When selecting a computer case, many folks unknowingly place a much larger value on the power supply. Most people can do just fine with a 150Watts power supply.

Make sure that you buy the right computer case for your motherboard and application. If you have an ATX format board (most Pentium II systems), then buy an ATX format board. Most Pentium motherboards however use standard AT style cabinets.

Also look at the amount of space you have at your workstation. If you have very little space, then a slimline desktop case or a regular desktop case may be fine for you. Otherwise, look into a mini-tower case. If you have a requirement for multiple drives, internal and external, then consider a mid tower or medium tower case. If space is not an issue and you need a case that offers plenty of room to work in, full tower cases are your answer.

Those of you who use dual cpu combination motherboards, make sure you install auxiliary cooling fans. The standard cooling fans may not provide adequate cooling.

For server applications, you are better off with Full Tower Cases and if money is not an issue, go for the redundant power supplies. A little money spent up front on a server case may save numerous headaches later on.

For High Availability Servers, consider Full Tower Computer Cases / Chassis with Dual Hot Swappable 300W or 400 W Redundant Power Supplies. Both power supplies share the load at 150W each but if one goes down, the other picks up the load at its full power of 300W. The defective one can be replaced without bringing the system down. This solution is available in both AT and ATX format motherboards.
