The DVD-116 features a DVD-ROM access time of 85ms, a CD-ROM access time of 70ms, a sustained DVD transfer rate up to 21.6MB/second (16X), a sustained CD-ROM transfer rate up to 6.0MB/second (40X), and a 256K cache buffer.The DVD-116 reads single and dual layer DVD-ROM/Video disks, DVD-R, DVD-RW (DVD-RAM not supported), CD-ROM, CD-ROM XA, Audio CD, CD-R, CD-RW, Video CD, Photo CD, CD-EXTRA, HYBRID CD, and CD-Text.
